In the latest draw held by the province of Alberta on 9th October, a total of 115 invites has been sent to candidates under the Express Entry aligned stream. Surprisingly, the minimum CRS score requirement in this draw was quite low, i.e. only 350 points. This draw s minimum CRS score is 50 points less than the previously held draw by the province, in which the minimum score requirement was 350 points.

Candidates who have scored 350 points or above in this draw are now eligible to apply for Alberta s provincial nomination to get their Canadian permanent residence visa.

Those candidates who got selected through the Alberta Express Entry Stream also got an additional 600 points and are guaranteed to get an invitation to apply for a Canadian PR visa in the upcoming federal Express Entry draw.

Alberta Express Entry Stream

Through this stream, the province of Alberta nominates an eligible candidate from the Federal Express Entry pool of Canada. It targets those Express Entry candidates who can contribute to the economic development needs of the province.

As said earlier, all the eligible Express Entry candidates who have got their nomination by any Canadian province also get 600 additional CRS points and are guaranteed to get an Invitation to Apply for a Canadian PR visa.

Candidates who are more likely to receive an NOI from the province are those:

Who have an Express Entry profile in Express Entry pool
Who have shown their interest in permanently immigrating to Alberta
Who is working in any occupation which supports the economic development of Alberta
Who have scored minimum CRS points

An added advantage is given to those candidates who:

Have a valid job offer work experience from Alberta s employer
Have a graduate degree from Alberta s post-secondary institution and a valid job offer from Alberta s employer
Have parents, child or siblings residing in Alberta either as a permanent resident or a Canadian citizen.
