Those candidates who have a profile in the Express Entry pool of Canada recently got new NOIs to apply for a provincial nomination from Alberta. Total 121 Notifications of Interest were issued to Express Entry candidates in a draw which was held on 15th August. The minimum score requirement was recorded as low as 400 points.
This Alberta draw was second Express Entry aligned draw to look out for eligible candidates from the EE pool to meet eligibility requirements of Alberta. In an earlier draw, which was held on 7th August, only 35 NOIs were issued to Express Entry candidates with the CRS scores requirement of 352.
Those Express Entry candidates who have received an NOI from the province are eligible to apply for a provincial nomination. Those who got their nomination approved will obtain an additional 600 points against their overall CRS score, which guarantees them an invitation in an upcoming Express Entry draw.

Alberta’s Express Entry aligned Stream selects applicants who CRS scores are generally lower in comparison to other draws held via Express Entry system. In 2019, Alberta has selected candidates with scores as low as 300 in four of its draws. Out of 4, 3 draws had a CRS score of as low as 301, while one had a CRS score of 302. If you compare the results, you ll get to know that the lowest CRS score in last 14 Express Entry draws was 438 in 2019 with the recent one as 466.
