Alberta Express Entry Stream

Launched in the year 2018, AINP- Express Entry stream allows the Alberta province to find the right candidates in the federal Express Entry pool, who meet the labor market requirements of the province.

The Express Entry system manages the candidate pool for 3 main economic immigration categories of Canada:

  • The Federal Skilled Worker Class
  • The Federal Skilled Trades Class
  • The Canadian Experience Class

Eligible candidates in all the listed categories, enter into the Express Entry pool and get a score determined by the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Candidates with the highest-rank are issued ITAs for Canadian PR via regular draws from the pool. The selected candidates for Alberta provincial nomination will also get 600 additional CRS points, which ensures them a guaranteed invitation to apply for obtaining PR in Canada in the subsequent Express Entry Draw.

Application Process

In order to be eligible for applying for Alberta Express Entry streams, the candidates have to score a minimum of 300 CRS points. They must be working in an occupation that supports the diversification and economic development priorities of Alberta.

Though it is not compulsory to have a job offer or work experience in Alberta, the candidates who have the following will get an advantage over others:

  • A job offer and/or work experience in Alberta
  • A degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution
  • A parent, sibling or child already living in Alberta
