For the first time since the start of pandemic, the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada announced an all-program Express Entry draw on July 8, 2020.
This draw was held at 13:08:41 UTC and issued total 3,900 ITAs for permanent residence to Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) candidates.
To be invited in this latest draw, candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 478 points.
The IRCC rank candidates in the pool using CRS, i.e. a points-based system and select the highest-ranking candidates to invite them to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
For an eligible foreign national to get an invitation to make an application, they must be ranked among the first 3,900 eligible applicants in the general ranking.
If more than one applicant has the lowest score, then the cut-off is based on the date and time they both have submitted their profiles in the Express Entry pool.
The tie-breaking-rule implemented in 8th July draw was February 11, 2020, at 3:17:13 UTC.
Thus, only those candidates with 478 points who had submitted their profiles as per the cut-off date and time are invited by the IRCC to apply for Canada PR.
Now, the IRCC has issued total 53,800 invitation in 22 Express Entry draws that took place this year.
The cut-off score rise seven points above the previous all-program invitation round held on 4th March, where total 3900 ITAs were issued with a cut-off score of 471 points.
Prior to this invitation round, the IRCC was inviting only CEC and PNP candidates on regular intervals as those candidates were more likely to be Canada and be least affected by the restrictions.
But, the way things ruling out concerning the pandemic situation and temporary restriction easing out at different levels, the IRCC had resumed to invite candidates under Federal Skilled Workers Program as well.
It is a 3-stage immigration process where interested candidates are first required to submit their Express Entry form online. Second, the IRCC assesses the potential applicants against specific minimum eligibility criteria.
Then, the potential candidates who met the eligibility criteria enter into a pool of candidates.
Third, the candidates whose profiles meet program-specific requirements get an “invitation to apply” (ITA). Only those candidates who obtain their ITAs can submit an application for permanent residency of Canada.
If you are a skilled worker living outside Canada and have a desire to move to Canada permanently, then you may apply under Federal Skilled Worker Program.
