Canada’s Parent and Grandparent Program (PGP) opened for EOI (Expression of Interest) on January 28, 2019, however, the intake was called off within few minutes by IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada). Within just a few minutes of PGP opening, the IRCC announced that it has received enough Interest to Sponsor forms for the current intake. Submission of Interest to Sponsor form and proof status in Canada is the primary step of Parent and Grandparent Program.
The Canadian government has planned to accept 27,000 Interest to sponsor forms, out of which it will invite total 20,000 applicants to submit a complete application for PGP along with required documents. The PGP is the key immigration program of Canada that allows the Canadians to sponsor their parents and grandparents to travel to Canada and get permanent residency.
