Air Canada has resumed its direct flight operations in India. The flights were suspended four months ago when India was facing the second wave of Covid-19.
On September 22, 2021, three direct flights will arrive in Canada from India. All the passengers boarded on those flights will undergo the COVID-19 test upon arrival. In addition, passengers will ensure that all new measures are taken into consideration.
New measures for travelers coming from India to Canada
Following are the additional measures to be followed by the Indian passengers who are eligible to board a direct flight from India to Canada:
Travelers must submit a negative COVID-19 molecular test report. An approved Genestrings Laboratory must conduct the test at the airport in Delhi. The test should be taken within 18 hours of the direct flight from India to Canada.
Before boarding, air operators will check the test results of all the travelers to ensure that they are eligible to travel to Canada. Also, to ensure that all the travelers are fully vaccinated and have updated the ArriveCAN website or app.
Please note, all those travelers who fail to meet the requirements mentioned above will be denied boarding the direct flight to Canada.

Who are considered as ‘Fully Vaccinated’ travelers?
To qualify for an exemption for traveling to Canada as a fully vaccinated traveler, you must:
· have no signs or symptoms of COVID-19
· show proof of receiving the entire series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine
· show proof that you had received your last dose at least 14 days before you entered Canada
· upload vaccination proof in the ArriveCAN app
· meet other necessary entry requirements
