A new IRCC update has come as a relief for those International students who are missing supporting documents for their student visa applications.
As per the announcement, the incomplete applications will not be refused by the IRCC if an applicant is unable to gather as a result of coronavirus closures.
Though Canada is easing out its immigration processes and temporary travel restrictions, but still this pandemic situation has forced a lot of application centres to close or limit their key operations.
And a few study permit applicants were lacking key components including, biometrics, medical exams, and submission of original travel documents.
Amid other reprieves, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada's new decision is also a new ray of hope for those applicants who are unable to get supporting documents and submit complete study permit applications due to Covid-19 service disruptions.
The IRCC had clearly stated that applications will be kept open and they will continue to request the applicants to submit additional supporting documents and other necessary actions until they'll receive the same or get evidence that the applicant is taking required actions toward application completion.
Thus, these temporary measures will lend flexibility to international students while they submit their study permit applications.
Moreover, these temporary measures are also applicable to Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) applicants.
Applicants who are unable to submit their letter of completion, or transcript from their Designated Learning Institution can now work full time until a final decision is taken even before their study permit expires.
Online courses at a Designated Learning Institution will also not impact Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) application for those students whose programs begin in May and June, or in the fall semester.
