Canada held sixth Express Entry draw of February month on February 29, 2024 to issue 2,500 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa to candidates with French language proficiency (2024-1). This was category-based draw for Francophone candidates and hence, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has reduced the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score requirement to the lowest of this year, i.e. just 336 points.

Now, after this new invitation round of Express Entry System, IRCC has invited total 19,390 candidates to apply for Canadian PR Visa in 2024 in overall 9 Express Entry immigration draws opened until date.
The IRCC has reduced the CUT OFF to the lowest mark of 2024, which is great news for the Canada PR aspirants with relatively low CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score. In the upcoming category-based draws, the CUT OFF is likely to remain low, and hence, it is great opportunity for the aspirants to secure their Canada PR invitation this year.
Six Existing categories will continue for 2024 category-based selections
The IRCC has recently confirm that it will continue with the same six categories for the Category-based Express Entry draws, which were used last year, i.e. in 2023. These categories are:
Ø A strong French language proficiency or
Ø Work experience in one of the below fields:
ü healthcare
ü science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
ü trades, such as carpenters, plumbers and contractors
ü transport
ü agriculture and Agri-food
