The Canadian Government completed the issuance process of invitations for its Parents and Grandparents Program for all the potential sponsors. This process of issuing invitations by IRCC started on 24th April, 2019 and was finished on 27th April, 2019.
The Canadian citizens or permanent residents ageing 18 years and above are eligible to sponsor their parents and grandparents to apply for Canadian permanent residency status.
Less than 60 Days of Time Left
All the potential candidates who have received an ITA are required to submit the complete application along with the supporting documentation and fees within 60 days from the date when they have received their invitations.
The list of supporting documents includes, documents related to civil status, income tax records, and other material. And a candidate has to provide information on the form, including his/her last name, date of birth, country or territory of birth, primary home address, postal code and Email address.
In case a candidate has not received an invitation from IRCC even after submitting the Interest to Sponsor form successfully, then IRCC will keep his/her contact and submission information for future consideration. And as per IRCC website, it might again open the interest to sponsor form in 2019.
IRCC is Targeting Huge Numbers
For 2019, IRCC has targeted to receive total 20,000 complete applications for its Parents and Grandparents Program. As a result, IRCC has accepted total 27,000 Interest to Sponsor forms on January 28. Surprisingly, its intake quota has reached the cap limit within 10 minutes.
IRCC has issued the invitations in the same order as it has received the forms, followed by a review to ascertain the candidate s eligibility.
If you want to be considered eligible to receive an ITA for PGP, you have to submit an Interest to Sponsor form in the month of January, during the annual submission.
Understand PGP
Under Canada s Family Class sponsorship program, there is a stream that is dedicated to parents and grandparents of Canadian permanent residents and citizens. Parents and grandparents who are approved under this program receives Canadian PR and are eventually eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship.
So, If you are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident ageing 18 or above with enough funds, then you can sponsor your parents and/or grandparents to come to Canada along with you.
