In the latest Express Entry draw held on 15th April 2020, the IRCC had issued a total of 118 invitations to eligible candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
This is another program-specific round of invitations issued under Express Entry, where candidates with provincial nominations are invited by the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement of 808 points.
The tie-breaker rule used by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada was March 18, 2020, at 10:30:55 UTC. This clearly indicates that all candidates who have scored 808 points or above and had submitted their Express Entry profiles before the said date and time have received their ITA in this latest draw.
As per information shared by the IRCC, all the candidates who have obtained their Invitations to Apply for Canada PR were in the Express Entry pool and had obtained a minimum of 208 points on the CRS human capital factors along with a provincial nomination certificate.
An applicant earns points based on CRS human capital factors like age, education, official language proficiency, work experience, and more. Those applicants who already possess provincial nominations are awarded additional 600 points toward their overall CRS score, which guarantees them an ITA from the IRCC through regular Express Entry draws.
With this latest round of invitations, the total number of invitations issued to eligible candidates through Express Entry has reached up to 26,618 so far this year.
With regular draws, the IRCC is targeting to meet its 2020-2022 Immigration Levels Plan, which is to welcome 341,000 immigrants by 2020, 351,000 by 2021, and 361,000 by 2022.
Along with Express Entry, PNP admissions are also set to rise by 20% by the end of 2022. Different Canadian provinces have held 30 draws so far in 2020 through different PNP Streams.
