Source CIC news: According to the latest memo issued by IRCC, the Canadian government will soon release a new Express Entry plan. Additionally, the immigration authority will soon resume the FSWP and CEC invitations round later in 2022.
Here are the key highlights of the memo:
· Express Entry draws will resume later in 2022 for Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) candidates.
· The temporary pause on FSWP, CEC, and FSTP invitations round will be in place till March 31st to help IRCC clear the inventory backlogs.
· IRCC aims to reduce the backlog for Express Entry candidates by more than half to achieve its 6 months standard processing time for new applications.
Clearing up the Federal Skilled Worker Applications Backlog
Recently, the IRCC had shared the data and stated that the authority has speed-up the processing of FSWP applications. Over 9,000 FSWP applications have been processed between the December mid and February end. At the same time, the CEC backlog is merely 10,000. IRCC has already processed 2,000 CEC applications backlog in the past two weeks and hopes to clear the entire CEC backlog by coming spring.
Such significant progress in tackling application backlog indicated that IRCC is going all the way out to resume its FSWP and CEC invitations.
