The IRCC has opened the latest express entry draw on March 6, 2019. This is the first draw of this month, after the only draw held last month, i.e. February 20, 2019. As far as timing is concerned, the draw is on time this time around, unlike last few draws, which didn’t follow the fortnightly trend of the EE draws. The applicants were eagerly waiting for this draw after the rise in the CRS score requirement last time around. Let’s take a look as to what this latest draw of express entry has brought for the applicants.
Number of invitations issued | 3,350 |
Date and time of the round | March 6, 2019 |
CRS Score Requirement | 454 |
Tie-breaking rule | February 11, 2019 at 17:21:27 UTC |
Significant Number of Invites
The number of Invitation issued by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is significant yet again as the government is issuing 3,350 invitations 3rd time in a row. This is the 5th draw of EE system this year which makes total invitations in 2019 to whipping mark of 17,850, which is a record in itself.
Draw | Date | Number of Invitations | Lowest CRS Score |
1st | 10thJanuary | 3,900 | 449 |
2nd | 24thJanuary | 3,900 | 443 |
3rd | 30thJanuary | 3,350 | 438 |
4th | 20thFebruary | 3,350 | 457 |
5th | 6th March | 3,350 | 454 |
The qualifying marks or the CRS score requirement also show an interesting trend. It started under quietly just under 450, then dropped drastically in 30th January draw, however, increased considerably again to 457 marks in the last draw in February month.
Now for the latest March 6 draw, IRCC has made the marginal reduction in the qualifying marks, which may give some sort of relaxation to the applicants if not all.
Although, the cut off is high at the moment, however, if you are an applicant registered already in the express entry or planning to apply for Canadian PR this year, you don’t need to be disappointed, as the current trend is likely to change shortly.
Considering the high immigration target of Canada for the year 2019, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is likely to make a reduction in the CRS score requirement in the draw to follow. Hence, in the upcoming draws of Federal Express Entry system, we may see the fall in the qualifying marks. Also, even if your CRS Score is low, you can apply through PNPs, which demand relatively low points from the applicants and provide pathways to Canadian permanent residency.
