The IRCC has announced the 12th Express Entry draw of 2020 to invite 589 Express Entry candidates in a draw held on 29th April 2020. In this latest draw, candidates with provincial nomination are invited to apply for permanent residence of Canada.
With this draw, the number of ITAs issued so far in 2020 under Express Entry has reached up to 30,989, while the IRCC had issued 8,389 Invitations to Apply solely in the month of April 2020.
This figure has surpassed the number of ITAs issued by IRCC in the month of February this year, which was 8,000 in a single month.
In this draw, the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement is of 692 points. As a matter of fact, the minimum cutoff score in this draw is only 92 points, because with provincial nomination candidates automatically get 600 additional points.
So far in the year 2020, this has been marked as the lowest CRS score requirement for a provincial nominee program-specific Express Entry draw.
In fact, it is six points lesser than the CRS score requirement of the 9th April draw, which was 698 points only for provincial nominees.
In this Express Entry draw, the IRCC has implemented the tie-breaking rule of March 11, 2020, at 13:46:21.
This clearly shows that all the candidates who had scored 629 points or above and had submitted their profiles before the mentioned date and time have received their Invitations to Apply ITA in this invitation round.
Irrespective of Covid-19 scare and amid travel measures, the first quarter has been great for Express Entry. A large of candidates have been invited to apply for a Canadian PR visa in comparison to the first quarter of the last two previous years, i.e. 2018 and 2019.
With this 12th Express Entry draw of 2020, we have seen that the government is announcing more program-specific draw instead of all-program draw, like, issuing an invitation to candidates Canadian Experience Class immigration program and with provincial nominations.
Generally, Express Entry draws issues invitations to apply under all its key economic immigration programs, including, Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class, and the Canadian Experience Class.
In the process, all the eligible candidates who have entered the pool are ranked on the basis of their CRS score obtained on the basis of their age, education, proficiency in English or French and skilled work experience. The highest-ranking candidates are then invited to apply for Canada PR.
