In the latest draw conducted by OINP, a total of 954 candidates were invited from the Express Entry pool to apply for provincial nomination. In this draw held on January 15, 2020, the province targeted those candidates who have prior work experience in 6 tech occupations.
All the candidates who have received their Notification of Interest (NOI) in this latest Tech draw by OINP are now eligible to apply for Ontario s provincial nomination for Canada Permanent Residency.
Once the candidates receive their Provincial Nomination, they ll get 600 additional points for their overall CRS score, which ensures them a guaranteed invitation to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence.
Introduced in the summer of 2019, these OINP Tech Draws are designed with a motive to allow the Ontario province to successfully fulfill its labour needs specifically in the tech sector.
Since Ontario is the tech hub of Canada, especially for cities like Toronto, Waterloo, Ottawa, these Tech draws strive to fulfill the labour gaps in these cities.
Through ONIP s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream, all the foreign workers who have the required skills, work experience, education and language abilities get a fair opportunity to apply to live and work permanently in Ontario.
For this Tech draw, the minimum CRS score ranges between 460 and 472 points and the targeted six occupations under which candidates must have prior work experience, includes:
You must register your profile officially under any two key categories of Express Entry, i.e. Federal Skilled Worker Class or Canadian Experience Class.
Once your profile enters the Express Entry pool, you will be awarded a score under the Comprehensive Ranking System on the basis of your core human factors like age, skilled work experience, education, English or French language proficiency, etc.
In case of these OINP Tech Draws, you don t need a prior job offer to qualify for the Human Capital Priorities Stream. But, as an Express Entry candidate, you must meet the eligibility requirements of OINP s Human Capital Priorities Stream and have a minimum one year of full-time, continuous work experience in an occupation listed under National Occupational Classification falling under the skill level O, A, or B.
