The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has updated its expression of interest (EOI) process registering for the Entrepreneur Stream. Moreover, the province has also resumed accepting EOIs under the Entrepreneur Stream, with effect from February 23, 2022.
Interested applicants can now register their EOI using ONIP’s e-Filing Portal. Applicants don’t need to contact the program for the EOI registration form. However, for those who have registered an eligible EOI before February 23, 2022, OINP will transition it into the e-Filing Portal manually.
Additionally, the OINP staff will also notify all the EOI registrants, along with their representatives, about accessing their EOI using the e-Filing Portal.
About ONIP’s EOI Process- Entrepreneur Stream
The Ontario expression of interest (EOI) is not an application. Consequently, candidates cannot apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian PR under the Entrepreneur Stream unless the province invites them.
There are two key components of EOI, for a maximum of 200 points:
· Self-declared score- 126 points max.
· Business concept score- 74 points max.
The EOI also includes an attestation that stream requirements are or will be satisfied. The province assesses and scores a candidate’s business concept. To qualify, candidates must achieve a minimum of 37 points out of 74 points for a business concept to get selected for the EOI selection pool.
