Prince Edward Island has held a total of three Provincial Nominee Program draws in the month of June 2020 amid temporary coronavirus measures.
For all these PEI PNP draws, the province invited candidates from the Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact categories to apply for a provincial nomination.
As a result, a total of 90 candidates were issued invitations over the course of the three draws in June 2020.
On June 10, a total of 9 candidates were invited to apply for a provincial nomination from PEI from Express Entry and Labour Impact categories.
Then, on June 18, there were a total of 10 candidates invited from the same categories. Finally, on June 23, there were 71 candidates invited under Labour & Express Entry categories.
Additionally, since the implementation of temporary travel restriction in Canada, the PEI PNP had invited 20 candidates under Business Impact: Work Permit Stream with a minimum EOI score of 117 in the 23rd June draw. The candidates from this stream were last invited on February 20, 2020.
For all three draws the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program invited candidates from the Labour Impact categories who are working in essential service industries like, Healthcare and Trucking.
The Express Entry category under the PEI PNP federal Express Entry aligned. In order to obtain an invitation to apply for provincial nomination, the Express Entry candidate must submit an EOI to the PEI PNP first.
All the profiles are evaluated on the basis of the province's points grid and the highest scoring candidates will get invitations to apply for a provincial nomination in PEI PNP draw.
Those who get an invitation and successfully obtain a provincial nomination will get 600 additional CRS points that get added to their overall CRS score. It eventually guarantees them an ITA for a PR visa in Canada.
Candidates under Labour Impact Category were also invited in the last three draws in June 2020.
This category is for those foreign nationals who have a prior job offer in PEI, and have support from respective employers. This category is further divided into 3 streams:
Candidates under this category are also required to submit an EOI profile to qualify for a provincial nomination via the Labour Impact Category.
A total of 20 invitations were issued to candidates in the Business Impact: Work Permit Stream in 23rd June draw with a minimum EOI score of 117.
This Work Permit Stream is designed for those entrepreneurs who have a desire and true intention to own and operate their business in PEI.
