In a SINP draw held on 12th November by the province of Saskatchewan, a total of 525 invitations were issued. These invitations were sent to Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand candidates. All the invited candidates are now eligible to apply for a provincial nomination to obtain Canadian permanent residence.
Out of 525 invitations for a provincial nomination, 303 invitations were sent to Express Entry candidates and the remaining 222 invitations were sent to Occupation In-Demand candidates. Both the categories of SINP, naming Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand are the most popular ones. The reason behind the popularity is that a candidate doesn t require to provide a job offer in Saskatchewan to qualify for these two categories.
But, both the categories have common eligibility requirements that all the candidates must have maximum one year of work experience in a skilled occupation and they should get educational credential assessments done for all their diplomas and degrees obtained from any institution outside of Canada.
In this latest draw held by Saskatchewan, the minimum CRS scores requirement for both Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand candidates was 69 points.
According to a statement issued by the Saskatchewan, "we make occupation-specific selections so that nominees with positive employment prospects in Saskatchewan are selected and applications do not exceed employment demand.” As per these circumstances, only those candidates will be invited for the provincial nomination whose occupations are chosen by the SINP.
To qualify for a provincial nomination through either of the sub-categories of SINP, a candidate has to register an EOI (Expression of Interest). Eligible candidates are then given a score out of 100 on the basis of the International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid of SINP. According to this system, SINP award scores on the basis of the following factors, like age, skilled work experience, education, English or French language proficiency and connections to the province of Saskatchewan.
The score obtained by a candidate determines his or her rank in the EOI pool. Those candidates who have got the highest-ranking will get an invitation to apply via regular SINP draws.
In addition to this, all those candidates who fall under the Express Entry category of SINP get an added advantage. They get an additional 600 points toward their CRS score and guaranteed to get an ITA for permanent residence in Canada. While the Occupation In-Demand category is open for those candidates who have not registered their Express Entry profile.
