Locally famous as “The Six”, the city has reached on the 3rd position in CBRE’s Scoring Tech Talent Report. The CBRE ranks 50 Canadian and U.S. tech markets on unique, 13 metric system that includes complete tech degrees, talent supply, and job growth.
As per the report, Toronto ranks ahead of New York City, Washington D.C. and Austin, Tex. It is also termed as a “brain gain,” by adding more than 80,000 tech jobs since the year 2013. The report also says, “Toronto’s pool of tech talent grew at the fastest pace of all 50 markets measured, adding an eye-popping 80,100 tech jobs in the past five years, a 54 percent increase.
Mr. Paul Morassutti, CBRE Canada Vice Chairman also said, “the tech sector’s impact on Toronto cannot be overstated and are attracting the best in the industry.”
As per CBRE s statement, other cities of Canada have also performed well. Vancouver got 12th rank, which marks great year-over-year performance improvement for any city of North America.
While Montreal ranked 13 and Ottawa, Canada’s national capital came at the 19th spot.
