2nd Largest Express Entry Draw: IRCC Issued 4200 ITAs to Eligible Candidates

September 17 , 2020 By Rajneesh Kumar

IRCC Issued 2nd Largest Express Entry Draw on 16th Sep, 2020

Canada held its second largest Express Entry draw ever on 16th September 2020. In this all-program draw, whopping 4,200 invitations were issued to eligible immigration candidates.

All the invited Express Entry candidates are now eligible to apply for Canada permanent residence.

The figures of this draw are similar to the number of ITAs issued in the last Express Entry draw, which was held on 2nd September.

Both the draws have been recorded as second biggest draws ever, followed by the biggest draw held on February 19, where 4,500 ITAs were issued.

With today’s draw, the total number of invitations issued so far in 2020 via Express Entry has reached up to 74,150.

Issuance of such high numbers of ITAs under all-program draws in every two weeks time clearly indicates that the government is working towards meeting its immigration level plans for 2020 and beyond.

Latest All- Program Express Entry Draw- Cut Off Score Requirement

This time, the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued invitations to those candidates from the pool, who managed to secure 472 CRS points or above.

The minimum cut off requirement is 3 points less than the last all-program draw held on 2nd September.

Latest Tie-break Rule

The IRCC has implemented March 9, 2020, at 13:03:40 UTC as the tie-breaker rule in this draw.

This clearly means that all those who had scored 472 points or above and entered their profile in the pool before the said date and time had received their ITAs in this round of invitations.

How Express Entry Works?

Express Entry is Canada's PR application management system that manages pool of candidates for three key economic immigration programs, including,

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Under Express entry system, an applicant is required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria of any one of the program and enter the pool of candidates by submitting their profiles.

All the profiles in the pool are then evaluated on the basis of different factors and are awarded with a CRS score and ranking.

Only those applicants who fall among highest ranking ones are then invited to apply for Canada PR.
