On 20th June 2019, Prince Edward Island has announced its monthly invitation round results. Total of 113 invitations to apply has been issued under Labour Impact Express Entry and Business Impact immigration categories. Candidates who have received ITAs via PEI’s Express Entry or Labour Impact categories are eligible to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence visa of Canada.
Out of 113 ITAs, 106 invitations have been sent to candidates under Express Entry and Labour Impact categories. Remaining 7 invitations have been issued to candidates under Business Impact- Work Permit Stream.
The Express Entry Stream of PEI comes under the federal Express Entry system, one of Canada’s popular pathways for skilled labour. Candidates who get a provincial nomination under Express Entry gets an additional 600 points against their CRS score and are sure to get ITA for Canadian PR from the federal government of Canada.
To become eligible for a provincial nomination, an applicant has to register an EOI, or Expression of Interest, with PEI’s provincial nominee program. Then the applicant will get a score out of 100 on the basis of their education, proficiency in English or French, work experience, etc. An applicant with highest-rank gets ITAs for a provincial nomination via monthly draws.
While Business impact- work permit stream supports foreign entrepreneurs who have eligible management experience or business owner who wish to invest and run a business in the province. Candidates invited under this stream may present their business proposal and get approval for the same. Approved candidates will get a letter of support from the province so that they can apply for a temporary work permit.
