The IRCC has announced two successive Express Entry draws in a row on 15th and 16th April, respectively. This latest draw held on 16th April is much bigger than the 15th April draw, where only 118 ITAs were issued to Express Entry candidates with provincial nominations.
While, in this round of invitations, a total of 3,782 candidates have been invited along with their families under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program to apply for permanent residence of Canada.
Since 2015, a total of four draws have been announced where IRCC had exclusively targeted CEC candidates ever in the history of Express Entry draws.
This draw is the fourth CEC-specific draw and had invited a total of 3,782 candidates with CRS scores as low as 455 points.
Such a low cut-off score of 455 points is a result of niche program-specific draw, where candidates are targeted from a smaller pool of applicants.
Still, in comparison to the last CEC Express Entry draw, there is a fall of 12 points in the minimum CRS score requirement.
For this latest draw, the IRCC has implemented the tie-breaking rule of January 20, 2020, at 15:20:02 UTC.
This indicates that all those candidates who had scored 455 CRS points or above and had submitted their profiles before the mentioned date and time have received their Invitations to Apply ITA in this invitation round.
With this 11th Express Entry draw of 2020, the number of 30,400 Invitations to Apply have been issued by the IRCC so far under the Express Entry program. These regular draws have been issued in order to meet Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2020-2022.
According to a new plan, the nation is targeting to welcome 341,000 newcomers in 2020, 351,000 in 2021, and 361,000 in 2022 along with a 20% rise in PNP admissions as well by the end of 2022.
In light of the current scenario, it is expected that the IRCC will hold frequent draws and will invite a large number of candidates in the upcoming round of invitations.
